本网讯（通讯员 凌晨）由湖北省教育对外交流服务中心和英国伦敦大学等单位联合主办的“2021湖北省优秀大学生国际夏令营”在严格遵守洪山区疫情防控指挥部相关规定之下，于9月29日至10月5日在华中农业大学顺利开展。经校内前期选拔，来自材料科学与工程学院、化学与环境工程学院、环境生态与生物工程学院和外语学院的12名本科生和2名硕士研究生由国际交流与合作处推荐至夏令营组委会参加交流学习。此次线上线下综合国际夏令营学员选派工作受到教务处、学生处（学工部）、研究生院（研工部）、计划财务处大力支持。
9月29日上午我校学生交流团与来自武汉科技大学、长江大学、江汉大学、武汉商学院、湖北工程学院和荆楚理工学院等六所湖北省属高校同学一起参加夏令营开营仪式。我校韦炳林同学作为学生代表进行讲话，感谢中英活动主办方的精心筹备，以及我校相关部门对于此次夏令营的大力支持，表达了我校学子将认真参加交流活动、完成既定训练目标的信心和决心。学校国际交流与合作处处长彭石玉陪同大家前来华中农业大学报到，并参加开营仪式。
在国际夏令营系列活动中，同学们集体参加了十场学术讲座，学习了包含科学研究成果展示、学术海报制作技巧、英国硕士研究生教育概况、英美高等教育特点比较、锂电池原理及展望、高级陶瓷应用、塑料制品回收与利用、纳米材料和太阳能利用等方面在内的知识，既强化了通用的科研观念和方法，又跨学科地学习了化学、材料、生态等门类的科学知识。七所高校的同学们分拆进八个小组，各组学员利用几天课余时间讨论结业学术报告主题和细节，组队训练全英文汇报并模拟英文答辩。虽然对于文科专业背景的同学而言，理工科学术研究存在相当大的难度，但所有同学都能克服困难，跨越学校之间的隔膜，各司其职，精诚合作，查资料、定方案、写文稿、练表达，最终顺利完成来自英方专家的考核，获得较好评价，在一定程度上提升了科学研究技能，并大大增进了团队协作和英语表达能力。
10月5日上午在华中农业大学教育培训学院举办本次国际夏令营颁奖典礼暨闭营仪式，我校国际交流与合作处彭石玉处长应邀出席并作总结发言。他肯定了各校学员认真、细致的科研态度，对于大家的成长表示欣慰。他还说，虽然全球新冠疫情阻隔了中外交流，但请大家相信在湖北教育厅、省教育对外交流服务中心和各高校的共同努力下，同学们将不断接触到优质国际教育资源，获得更多机会开阔国际视野，锻炼科研能力，进一步增强国际竞争力，希望大家把握机遇，继续认真学习，早日成为参与中华民族伟大复兴事业的国际化、复合型栋梁之材！
我校14位同学在此次夏令营活动中严格执行华中农行业大学疫情防控管理规定及活动流程，遵守纪律，互帮互助，积极表现，充分展现了我校学子团结活泼、尊师重道的良好风采，获得活动主办方的一致好评。（审稿 彭石玉）
International Summer Camp Accomplished in Hubei

The campaign ofInternational Summer Camp for Young Talents from HubeiUniversitieswas held from September 29 to October 5 in Huazhong Agriculture University, which invited 59 participants from 7 Hubei-Provincial universities, including Wuhan Institute of Technology’s 12 undergraduates and 2postgraduates from the School of Material Science and Engineering, School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, School of Environmental Ecology and Biology Engineering, and the School of Foreign Languages.
In the academic camp, organized by the Center of Hubei Education International,University of London and other higher education institutions of UK, thestudents learned from 10 wonderful lectures, including the themes of scientificresearch presentation, academic poster making, British master's education, comparison of UK and US higher education, history and prospects of the lithiumbattery, advanced ceramics application, plastic product recycling andutilization, nanomaterials and solar energy utilization. All the participantsgot the opportunity to enhance their understanding of scientific research, and gainedsome scientific knowledge of chemistry, materials, ecology and other fields. The candidates from the seven colleges and universities were divided into eightgroups, by which, they spent a few days in their spare time to determine the topics and discuss the details of the final academic presentation. Although some majoring in social science, all the students did overcome the difficulties, teamed with members from other universities to finish the reports successfully and get praised by experts from UK, which helped to improve their scientific research skills and expression in English.
Despite the COVID-19 epidemic across the world and international communication disturbed, the Department of Education of Hubei Province, the Center of Hubei Education International and all the universities in Hubei, would try to offer more qualified educational courses and programs, with hopes to train the university students well, and make them open-minded and international.
